Creating a Linked Discipline Model - NOT NEEDED

Workflow

Important Updates to This Workflow

  • Use the new Imperial Multi-discipline project template to create your linked model.
    • It includes pre-defined views for each discipline as well as coordination views.
    • The template no longer includes the analytical model view. We’ll set that up later.
  • Save your new discipline model as a Revit Cloud Model in order to link to other Revit Cloud Models (saved in your project in Forma Data Management).
    • If you save your discipline model as a Revit Cloud Model in your Forma project, the Import/Link RVT dialog will open to your Forma project, where you can select other models stored there.
    • If not, the External Resources > Cloud Models location will not appear, and you won’t be able to link to Cloud Models.
  • Choose the Auto - Project Base Point to Project Base Point positioning option in the Import/Link RVT dialog.
    • This will align your models in Revit, and the models will share the same Project Base Point (the XYZ origin for each model).
  • Use Manage > Project Location > Acquire Coordinates to copy the geolocation from your linked model.
    • This will align your model to the same latitude, longitude, and rotation on the globe. This shared Survey Point will accurately position the models for Model Coordination.
