Adding Columns

You add columns in Floor Plan views.

  • Columns are placed on individual floors or all floors in a Floor Group. They do not automatically span all floors in a building.

Workflow

  • In the Floor Plan palette, choose the floor level or floor group to add the column to.

  • Select the Add Column tool in the Floor Plan toolbar.

  • Choose the desired Column Type (Circular or Square) and Size in the Column properties palette.

  • Click the location in the Floor Plan view where the column should be placed.

Using Grid Lines for Precise Column Placement

  • Columns automatically snap to grid line intersections for precise placement.

  • If you want to place columns at multiple intersections:
    • Place a column at one grid intersection while holding down the left mouse button.
    • Drag across additional grid intersections to place columns at each intersection you pass over.
