Use the Grid Line tool to add structural reference lines to your floor plan.
Workflow
- In the Floor Plan palette, choose the floor level or floor group to add the column to.
- Select the Add Grid Line tool in the Floor Plan toolbar.
- Drag the cursor across the canvas, then click to place a vertical grid line.
Toggle Between Vertical and Horizontal Grid Lines
- Press the Space bar to toggle between placing vertical and horizontal grid lines.
Align a Grid Line to a Wall
- Hover the cursor over a wall.
- Hold the Shift key to align the grid direction with the wall you are hovering over.
Create an Array of Grid Lines
- Click to place one grid line.
- Move the cursor to indicate the desired spacing between grid lines.
- Press and hold the left mouse button, then click at each location to place additional evenly spaced grid lines.
