You can also create new buildings in Forma Building Design — as an alternative to creating the buildings in Forma Site Design and converting them.
Workflow
- Click the Buildings tool in the Top toolbar.
- Choose a pre-defined building type to create.
- The Buildings tool creates Basic buildings with different functions and facade features.
- Create the desired building footprint.
- Draw or trace individual lines.
- When the lines form a closed polygon, the enclosed area becomes a white region representing the building footprint.
- Pull the footprint up to create floors

- Adjust the properties of the Building Design building in the Building panel on the right-side of the canvas.
- You can:
- Set the number of floors
- Adjust the Floor Height
- Assign an overall Function and Unit Type for the building
- Choose the Wall type for the outer walls.
- Create Options to explore alternative designs.
- Start designing the facades.
Tips
- You can create new buildings in a 3D view or the Top View.
