When you create an Energy Analytical Model for your building elements, Revit also generates Analytical Spaces.
These Analytical Spaces inherit the properties of the physical Spaces that you set up in the last step. And these Analytical Spaces will be used to perform Systems Analysis calculations to compute your heating and cooling loads using Energy Plus.
Workflow
Set the Energy Model Settings to Spaces Mode
- Open Analyze > Energy Optimization > Energy Model Settings.
- Open the Mode menu and choose Spaces.
Create a New Energy Analytical Model using Spaces
- The Create Energy Model button toggles. It flips between Delete and Create depending on whether an Energy Analytical Model already exists.
- Always choose to delete the existing model and create a New Energy Model.
- Choose Analyze > Energy Optimization > Delete Energy Model.
- Choose Analyze > Energy Optimization > Create Energy Model.
