When you use the Export to Revit tool in Forma Building Design, the Revit project created is very lean. It contains only the Revit elements defined by the items in your Building Design project.
For more flexibility as you develop your design in Revit, you can copy the standard element types from a Revit project template.
Workflow
- Open your Revit project — the one created by the Export to Revit tool.
- Create a new Revit project using one of the Revit Project Templates.
- Open File > New > Project.
- Choose Imperial Multi-discipline from the Template File menu.
- Click OK.
- Choose one of the views in your Revit project to switch back to it.
- Copy the standard types from the template project.
- Open Manage > Settings > Transfer Project Standards.
- Choose the template project in the Copy From menu.
- Click Check All to select all the types in the list.
- Then, check scroll down the list and uncheck Project Info.
- Click OK or Overwrite in any dialogs warning about Duplicate Types.
- All selected types will be copied into your Revit project and available for use as you develop your design.
BE CAREFUL — DON’T SKIP THE NEXT STEP! Deselecting Project Info is essential. If Project Info is copied from the template, your project’s Geolocation will be overwritten and the Latitude and Longitude settings will be lost.
