You can use Revit’s Forma Connected Client features to:
- Link in coordination models that show the site terrain and context buildings
- Use Forma analysis tools within Revit
Enabling the Forma Connected Client Features
- Open Forma Data Management.
- Open Settings.
- Switch to the Revit tab.
- Confirm that Forma Connected Client is turned on for your project. If not, turn it on.
Creating a Scenario
- In Revit, open the Manage > Project Location > Location tool.
- Copy the precise Latitude and Longitude of your project’s Survey point
- Click OK to close the Location and Site window.
- Open the Collaborate > Manage Models > Manage Scenarios tool.
- In the Manage Scenarios panel, click the Connect button to create a new scenario.
- Enter a name for your New Scenario, then click the Connect to Scenario button.
- Wait as Revit syncs your Revit Cloud Model.
- If you haven’t saved your project as a Revit Cloud Model yet, follow these steps: Saving a Revit Project as a Revit Cloud Model
- If you receive an error after creating your new scenario, don’t panic!
- Wait a few minutes, then click the Connect button again.
- Choose the name of the scenario you created from the list of available scenarios.
Linking to Contextual Data
- Click Load Scenario to open it.
- The list of Models in the scenario shows that your Revit project is connected it.
- Open the Massing & Site > Model Site > Contextual Data tool in Revit.
- The Contextual Data panel shows the types of contextual data available to be linked to this scenario.
- Click Terrain to import a terrain model.
- Select the USGS model.
- Click Add.
- Click Buildings to import a model of the adjacent buildings.
- Select the FEMA model.
- Click Add/
- The new coordination models appear in the Manage Scenarios panel.
If you included Terrain in your Forma Building Design export, skip this step. Do not import it again here.
If you included Generic Models in your Forma Building Design export, skip this step. Do not import it again here.
