Module 5 Submission

My design features an octagonal common space that derives its inspiration from Huang Engineering. This new commons adds much a ton of new programming for the School of Engineering, including a third floor cafe, a conference room, and a maker space. The maker space has garage doors to facilitate easy access for materials and equipment as well as large windows so that students can see what their fellow students are doing. The new wing will be attached to the old building, facilitating easy access between the two parts and creating a new focal point for the building. On the second floor, we have an enormous open workspace that can be flexibly adapted to the university's changing needs.
