Hello World!
I鈥檓 Gast贸n Carvajal, a Civil Engineer based in Chile (yup, we get earthquakes almost every month here, it keeps things interesting!).
I hold a degree from Universidad Cat贸lica del Norte. For the past decade, I鈥檝e been with Codelco (the world's top copper producer), managing brownfield mega-projects in the Atacama Desert. We are currently completing a massive desalination plant and complex pipeline network in one of the driest places on Earth.
Coordinating specialized contractors on active industrial sites has shown me exactly where traditional project management falls short. I鈥檓 here to learn VDC methodologies and 4D/5D modeling so I can anticipate interferences in brownfield projects, modify the engineering, and optimize constructability before anyone even sets foot on site.
On a personal note, I played rugby back back in college and love hiking. To balance that out, I'm a bit of a book nerd currently obsessed with Carl Jung and psychology. I also enjoy almost any kind of art, I play the guitar, and I absolutely love movies. So, if anyone wants to trade film recommendations, talk music, or do some movie trivia, let me know!
