Hello everyone,
My name is Maddie Grant and I am from Rhode Island. I am currently a second year masters student in SEM studying structural engineering. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 2025, where I was president of our ASCE chapter and skated on the synchronized skating team. I have been figure skating since I was 7 and began synchronized skating at 9. The sport taught me a lot about teamwork, dedication and resilience which have proven critical skills in engineering. Below is a photo from my final year on the team in 2024.
I have worked with Michael Baker International out of the Providence, Rhode Island office for the past three summers as a structural intern in the bridge division. There I performed load ratings and worked on a major bridge rehabilitation project.
I am looking forward to taking this course because I have never had the opportunity to take a course like it and I want to learn more about BIM. My goal is to gain a solid understanding of Revit and improve my ability to interpret models.
