`I'm a third-year undergraduate studying Civil Engineering with a climate and energy focus. I'm most interested in sustainable design, bringing nature into the built environment, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
This past summer I interned at Weatherstone Capital Partners, a private equity firm, where I led market mapping for the energy and utility vertical. I assessed market concentration and competitive landscapes, then wrote an investment recommendation memo for the firm's investment committee. The experience showed me how financial decisions shape which energy technologies grow.
Previously, I've taken Extreme Energy Efficiency and am currently taking Energy Efficient Buildings, so this class felt like the perfect next step. It's a chance to apply what I've learned and build fluency in the software used in industry. Long term, I hope to be the bridge between engineers and the financial and strategic stakeholders in clean energy, and that requires being fluent in both languages.
This quarter, I want to challenge my way of thinking and push myself toward a more unique design that truly integrates nature. For our quarter project, I'm designing on a site in the Inner Sunset facing Golden Gate Park, with views of the Botanical Garden. My goal is to make the building capable of achieving net zero energy. I'm also excited to learn from classmates with different backgrounds.
Outside of school, I love playing beach volleyball, watching sunsets, and going on adventures!
