skylerzzz
Hey! This is Skyler, and I’m a first-year CEE master’s student in the Sustainable Design and Construction program. I just graduated from Emory University this May, where I studied Environmental Sciences and Economics. My background has been much more focused on sustainability, economics, and environmental policy, so I’m very new to the engineering, design, and modeling side of things.
I previously worked as a sustainability intern at a local company in Atlanta, where I worked on food waste, hunger, and food access issues, and I also did a bunch of research on environmental policy during my undergrad. Now I’m trying to pivot more toward the engineering side and am really excited to explore the AEC industry! I’m also getting a little closer to my childhood dream of being an architect by finally learning more about modeling and design. For this course, I’m hoping to build a solid foundation in building modeling, get comfortable with the tools, and better understand how design connects with construction and the broader project process.
As for hobbies, I do a lot of photography, and I really enjoy performing arts and other creative/artistic stuff. I also like hiking, sports, cooking, etc.
Also, if anyone wants to work together sometimes for this class and make the asynchronous format a little more synchronous, please feel free to reach out!! :)
