You moved a design from Forma into Revit this week.

◦  What survived intact, and what did you rebuild? The overall building shape and structure survived. Stairs did not survive, and had to be redone. I added some new doors for entrance, I did not really find the glass doors I would need. But will look to add them to the library. Exterior walls and roofs also changed.

◦  What does that tell you about what each tool is for? Forma for rapid prototyping , Revit for Engineering schematics and drafts.

◦  Knowing where the handoff lands, what would you do differently in Forma next time? Maybe work out

Many manufacturers provide Revit families for their products.

◦  What is the advantage to the manufacturer of giving them away? It helps accurately model the product within the architecture plan. if they don't people are likely to use other products.

◦  What is the benefit to you of using them over the generic library families? Provide better design value. Better variation in different material, accessories doors, windows etc.

◦  At what point does it become appropriate to switch from generic to manufacturer specific? When you finalize down the supplier. a rough estimate of the location is good until you figure out the final interior / exterior decisions.

The core is located early and moved rarely.

◦  Why does it get fixed before most of the building? The overall site and building location.

◦  What are the consequences of a core that does not stack vertically? I did not experience this issue

◦  What did locating the core force you to change about your Week 3 layout? No.
