Forma borad proposal 3 ( I like this one) proposal 2 ( I tested a second one I like but when it came to unit distribution, proposal 3 was better)

Comparing wind exposure for each proposal will be important for the outdoor area

Design memo of 300 to 500 words: how the massing changed from Week 2 and why, what the facade studies showed, what you chose, and where you overrode the automation

For One of the proposal , I had to increase the Depth to have better units layouts in the future. Moreover as a result of that change the build area has increased, to counter that, I reduced the width of the commercial mass and the residential mass. The development is in the luxury segment and for week 3 I advanced two proposals forward:

- Proposal no. 2: Introduces a court heard within the design. - Proposal no. 3: Focused on dense vertical space and maximizing When developing windows, I created number of templates for window layout for 30, 20 and 15 feet. I replicated the pattern in one design and once I replicated the component walls and unit placement did not really follow exactly that rhythm. Also I needed a balcony for each units. as a result I manually adjusted locations after I placed all windows on all floors. when I did it for the second building I was faster by copying all windows and replicating the pattern across all windows. I am still likely to change things as I want to avoid uniform rhythm for richer appearance. The courtyard idea is very interesting, I wanted to make it exposed to the outside without a door but did not know how. The court yard proposal has 23 units per floor, totaling 92 units across four floors. which is signfcantly less than the proposal 3 that has 140. This is a significant difference, particularly given the location of the development. Another difficulty I encountered was getting the exact percentages of the different unit types. The percentages in the assignment added up to 100%, but they exclude elevators, stairs, corridors, and mechanical rooms. This makes it difficult to determine the actual usable space and proposed number of units can not fit within the building. As a result, I choose to reduce the percentage of 2 bedroom units in favor of meeting the allocation for other units. I also had challenge in meeting the 30% to 50% glass facade ratio, I will likely adjust more to get the desired percentage, my desire to provide expansive views might be at odds with cost.
