Module 10 - Plumbing Systems

Journal Entry For
Module 10 - Plumbing Systems

My first step was putting in a thin interior wall into the restrooms to hide the pipes. I chose a generic 5” wall. I then put in generic plumbing fixtures:

  • Lavatory: Wall Mounted 20” x 18” - Public
  • Water Closet: Public - 1.6 gpf
  • Urinal: Wall Hung - 3/4” Flush Valve

I decided to place all the fixtures along one wall so I would only have to input one extra wall to hide the piping, rather than two walls on both sides of the room and reduce the area of the room.

There are two sets of restrooms throughout my building - the larger womens and mens restrooms on the eastside of the first floor and the single stall all-gender restrooms in the center of the building on both the first and second floor. I had one set of pipes to service each set of restrooms (so two total). Each set of pipes was made up of the following pipes:

  • Sanitary: 4”
  • Hot Water: 1”
  • Cold Water: 1”
