I choose to use wood-frame system in this building. Because wood is more energy friendly which can reduce embodied carbon in our whole building system. I tried to avoid beams in the elevator, stairs and atrium. However, there are some columns in the middle of the hallways because for a wood-frame system, the beam maximum span is 25’, to mitigate this problem there must be some additional columns in the middle of the hallways.
