The museum of science and industry in my hometown of Chicago is a spot that attracts all sorts of people due to its highly interactive and appealing nature. It's temple-like facade gives it a grandiose feel that places a thought of great importance into the viewers mind. In my experiences here, as a brainless child all the way to a student of higher education, I have found my times here to be worthwhile every time I visit. As a kid, the cool interactive exhibits are fun, but now as an adult, I can find a greater appreciation in the beauty of the museum itself.
Another hometown museum I've enjoyed very much is the art institute of Chicago. This museum, depicted through its modern and more traditional wings, is a joy to walk through. Similar to the museum of science & industry, the traditional wing has a temple-esque feel to it. The interior is void of distractions and allows for the spectators to walk through and admire the paintings rather than become sidetracked. Its highly simplistic nature is what makes it such a great exhibit for the arts.
