Hello everyone! My name is Raul and I'm a first year Structural Engineering Student. I graduated approximately 3 years ago from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. I had the opportunity of working 6 months in Construction Management and 2 years in Structural Design. Besides all the technical learning, I had a lot of exposure to different BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks that were heavily used by the drafters in our design offices. I had few knowledge with this software and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the existing capabilities and potential these tools will bring to our profession. With all the rapid changes going on in our industry, I believe that as engineers we must be at the forefront of these changes and lead the way which is my main interest in taking this course.
