Hi everyone!
My name is Akash Doshi and I am currently pursuing a MS degree in Structural engineering. I graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. During my senior year, I worked with a research team at University of Houston to build sensors made out of carbon nanofiber aggregate to monitor the structural health of various structures. We worked with Texas Department of Transportation to fit these sensors at one of the bridges (on the steel rebar cage before concrete was poured) and are hoping to receive vibrational data of vehicles moving by.
I am interested in this course because I lack skills in this area and hope to learn cool parametric designs and optimization skills! I am excited to see what I am able to accomplish by the end of the quarter as well as how this will be beneficial in my professional career.
