Stage 1
Part 1

For this building I used the Twisting Simple Triangle Mass Parametric Tower. The input parameter that I flexed was the mid-height. Other parameters that can be adjusted are the top height, top rotation, base rotation, and base radius. I forced the top radius and mid radius to be a function of the base radius, and I forced the mid rotation to be a function of the top rotation and base rotation.

Part 2

For this building, I used the Twisting Towers - 3 Profile as a starting point. I then created a trapezoidal profile for the base, and isosceles triangle profile for the middle, and an equilateral triangle profile for the top. I wanted to explore what kind of forms I could create by lofting the four-cornered trapezoidal profile to the three-cornered triangular profiles. The input parameter that I flexed was the mid-height. Other parameters that can be adjusted are the top height and top rotation. The top width and top depth can be adjusted, but they are a function of one another, to ensure that the top profile is always an equilateral triangle. The mid rotation, mid depth, and mid width can be adjusted, as well as the base rotation, base width, and base depths A and B, which are the two unequal sides of the trapezoidal profile.
Point to Ponder: The advantage of exporting the values to excel is that the excel file automatically updates when you run the Dynamo/Revit program with new inputs. Then you donβt need to worry about copy and pasting the updated output values from Dynamo.
Stage 2
Flexed Base Outer Radius:

Flexed Mid Outer Radius:

For this building, I created a base, middle and top profile and lofted the three profiles together to get the building form. I flexed the base outer radius and mid outer radius parameters. The other parameters that can be adjusted are the base inner radius, top inner radius, top outer radius, tower height, and mid curve end angle. The base and top curve end angles are held constant at 270 degrees, to keep the loft functioning without errors.
Point to Ponder: The base outer radius has a greater impact than the mid outer radius on all three metrics - gross volume, gross surface area, and gross floor area.
