My Approach: I wanted to create a plaza that resembled the look of actual ripples in a pond. I began by creating a grid of cuboids, following the module videos. I started with a smaller grid of 50x50 to allow for faster iteration and automatic run mode. I then followed the steps in the assignment to create an attractor point, calculate the distance, and move the cuboids to the same elevation. Finally, I set the grid to 200x200 and played around with the settings (integer slider = 1, attractor point to (100,100) and the sin wave inputs) to get the final shape, which mimics ripples in a pond.

My Approach: Since my first form had the attractor point in the center of the grid, I wanted to place it in a different location for this second form. Following a similar set of steps, I created the ceiling plane, followed by a smaller grid (this time with cylinder elements). Then, following the instructions, I created my attractor point and I set the height of each cylinder to simulate the sine wave ripple effect. Finally, I adjusted the Extent X/Y to create a larger grid. This makes the cylinders appear more closely-compressed, which makes them feel like one continuous form. I also adjusted the attractor point to sit at (21, 0, 12), so that it’s centered along the x-axis and on the very edge of the y-axis.
