- A brief overview of what your tools does (to help users decide whether to download it and give it a try). Think of a “ReadMe” file for software.
- ARSanityCheck is a Dynamo-based structural sizing assistant designed for rapid early-phase feasibility checks of rectangular structural elements (like beams, columns, or walls) based on rule-of-thumb aspect ratios. By entering three key dimensions and specifying the support condition (simply supported or cantilevered), users can instantly evaluate whether a proposed shape passes basic axial, bending, and shear thresholds. It provides:
- recommendations for best structural element type
- computed aspect ratios
- visual pass/fail checks
- CSV export to track design explorations over time
- Whether you’re a structural engineer, architect, or design student, this tool helps you make fast, informed decisions during the schematic or concept design phase—before full analysis tools come into play.
- A catchy name (or acronym) for your tool
- AR (Aspect Ratio) Sanity Check
- A teaser image that shows typical results, i.e. what users should expect to get as an output
Ex) improvements to shear wall, first red since doesn’t pass then green since passes (see excel columns F —> G):
- A link to a recorded video demo in which you demonstrate how a user would interact with and benefit from using your parametric design tool.
