Stage 1 - part 1

  • For this part, I followed the approach from the kickoff session. I started by creating a sin wave and extruding it along the path to create a wall. Following that, I used what we did in the last module to create panels along the wall and insert adaptive components. This wall creating process also involved making the panels into squares as outlined in the assignment. The last portion of this was uploading the image through a file path and formatting it along the wall.
  • My design is a curved wall with a super cute rockstar girl. The adaptive components include:
    • Amplitude: changes the height of the waves
    • Wave Number: adjusts number of waves on sine curve of wall
    • Wall Length
    • Wall Height: allows panels on the y axis to increase or decrease. higher number allows a clearer view of image.

Stage 1 - part 2

  • In this part I built on the previous code by simply adding a few nodes that allowed the individual squares to have adjustable min and max heights. I also connected it to my color list so that height could be adjusted based on hue and brightness.
  • My design is a precious pink rose. Adaptable components:
    • Wall height: allows panels on the y axis to increase or decrease. higher number allows a clearer view of image.
    • Min, Max square panel height

Stage 3

  • For this stage I built off the steps from stage one but created a different form. I created the curved surface as shown in the kickoff, panelized the surface, and created adaptive components. Following that, I went through a step by step process that normalized the panels on the curved surface which allowed them to face outwards. Lastly, I created a color range which responds to the position of the sun. As seen in the image, the colors chnage a steh usn moves.
  • Parameters that can be moved:
    • Surface length: increases or decreases horizontal length of surface
    • Curve height: increases or decreases vertical height of curved surface
    • Color range: can adjust color palette that appears on surface / responds to sun position
