Please also type the first few letters of your first name into the Link to Student field, then hover over your name from the list of matching records and click the blue plus sign to link this entry to your Design Journal.

Then, share your Design Journal entry here (replacing these instructions) ... Click the text area below the headers and just start typing your response. There's no need to add new properties.

Please include:

  • A screenshot of your model geometry from each part of the assignment that you completed:
    • For 2 or More Units: Modeling a Parametric Structure
    • For 3 or More Units: Transforming Your Geometry
    • For 4 Units: Appyling Your Form at Different Scales
  • A few sentences describing your modeling approach
    • I first did a sketch of the project to conceptualize what I wanted to aim for in the program. From plan view, this helped me understand that I wanted something smaller on one end and larger on the other. I did an elevation view and a 3-D view to help cement where I wanted to go. From there I began modeling in Dynamo, creating dynamic points that could be altered with sliders. Point lead to curves and curves lead to the adaptive components used. The result is a simple pavilion but with the ability to be a cool shelter.
  • A brief description of your design outlining the parameters that can be used to flex and dynamically change your structure
    • I largely used the parameters under the “side 1” and “side 2” groups. Further more I used the parameters in the “column 1” and “column 2” groups. They helped explore the positioning and height of the elements. Ultimately, I ended with a relatively simple form with a slight angle in the columns as you enter the west side of the pavilion.
