Uploading a Revit Project to Forma Data Management

Prepare Your Revit Project to be Uploaded

  • Adjust the Collaborate > Publish Settings to select the Views and Sheets that you want to include in the version published to Forma Data Management

Open Your Forma Project

You access the Autodesk Forma tools by logging in to the Autodesk Forma website using your Autodesk ID.

Go to the Autodesk Forma website, and login using your Autodesk ID.

Click on the name of the project to open.

The first time you open a project, the system will offer the opportunity to invite other members to the project. Click the X in the upper right corner of the window to skip this step.

Switch to the Forma Data Management tool

  • As you work in any of the Forma Design tools, you can switch to another Forma tool by pulling down the Forma menu at the upper left corner of the interface.
  • Choose Data Management from the list of available tools.

Upload Your Revit Project File

  • Choose the Files section in the Data Management Tool.
  • Within the Files section, choose the Project Files folder.
  • You can upload the file either of two ways:
    • Option 1: Click the Upload button to select your Revit project file on your computer.

    • Option 2: Drag and drop the Revit project file from Windows Explorer into the Forma Data Management > Files > Project Files window.
  • Wait as the Revit project file uploads to the cloud and gets processed for online viewing.

Share a Link to Your Project

  • Select your Revit project in the Project Files folder.

  • Click the pull-down menu (looks like 3 vertical dots) and choose the Share option.
  • Select these options in the Share dialog:

    1. Share with: Project members
    2. Select version to share: Always the latest current version
  • Switch to the Links tab.
  • Click the Copy button to copy the sharing link to your clipboard.
