Daylight potential analysis gives you valuable insights into your buildings' daylight performance, highlighting facade areas with inappropriate light levels you may want to fix to improve the quality of your design.
Workflow
- Select the building to be analyzed.
- If no building is selected, all of the buildings in Forma Building Design will be included.
- Choose the Daylight tool.
- Choose the type of analysis to perform:
- Outdoor
- Indoor
- Choose which building surfaces to include in the analysis:
- Facades
- Windows
View Outdoor Daylight Results
- View the results in the 3D view or an Elevation view.
- Use the analysis slider at the bottom center of the screen to filter the value range and focus on specific performance thresholds.
- Use the Inspect tool (located to the right of the scale bar) when you need an exact value for a specific point.
- Click anywhere on the building to place inspection points and view detailed results for those positions.
View Indoor Daylight Results
- View the results in a Floor Plan view,
- View the results in the 3D view.
- Click the Exploded View toggle to see the interiors.
- Use the analysis slider at the bottom center of the screen to filter the value range and focus on specific performance thresholds.
- Use the left slider to choose the floors to display.
- Use the right slider to set the spacing between the floors
