After you’ve created a Detailed Building in Forma Building Design — either by converted a Site Design building or creating a new building — you can fine-tune the form to explore more interesting shapes.
Workflow
Entering Building Edit Mode
- Double-click a Building's roof to enter Edit Mode.
- The Top toolbar will display the Building Editing tools.
- Facade elements will be hidden, so you can focus on the building form.
Moving an Entire Roof Surface
- Select a Roof surface.
- The roof surface turns blue, and a dot appears on the surface.
- Push or pull the dot vertically to raise or lower the roof.
Moving an Entire Facade Surface
- Select a Facade surface
- The facade surface turns blue, and a dot appears on the surface.
- Push or pull the dot horizontally to move the surface.
Moving the Facade on One Floor
- Use the tab key to select the facade surface of a single floor.
- The facade surface on that floor turns blue, and a dot appears on the surface.
- Push or pull the dot horizontally to move the surface.
Splitting a Roof into Subsections
- Choose the Split tool, then draw a boundary on the Roof Surface to break the building into separate parts that can be adjusted independently.
- Draw a boundary on a Roof surface to subdivide the surface.
- Select one of the surfaces.
- The facade surface turns blue, and a dot appears on the surface.
- Push or pull the surfaces independently.
Splitting a Facade into Subsections
- Choose the Split tool, then draw a boundary on the Facade Surface to break the facade into separate parts that can be adjusted independently.
- Draw a line from top to bottom of the facade to split the facade.
- Or draw a rectangle on a facade surface to subdivide the surface.
- Select one of the surfaces.
- The facade surface turns blue, and a dot appears on the surface.
- Push or pull the surfaces independently.
Moving a Facade Edge
- Select a vertical edge.
- The edge turns pink.
- Push or pull the edge to reshape the building building form.
