Prototyping Plan
Prototype:
This is a replica of a typical desk at the second floor of green library. The yellow stripe on top is a light that provides illumination, while the yellow stripe at the bottom assembles the light that shine down onto the desk.
MVP:
- A filter is added to the light on the desk which has “break time” painted with special pigment on it. This pigment can absorb heat and therefore becomes less transparent, so it makes a shade of “break time” onto the table as time passes.
- Yellow light combined with black shade create a natural warming color that attracts people’s attention and as a result promote people to take a break.
Tests:
Will the black shadow stands out from the yellow background if the light is not shining on a empty desk? but instead over some books or on a laptop？
How would people like the idea that the light they use changes overtime?
Will people be annoyed that they are demanded to take breaks?
Will people habituate over time? If yes, what can I do to improve?
