I really like golf and specifically enjoy testing different golf balls to see which ball enhances my game the most. A typical golf ball however is harmful to the environment. As the golf balls break down chemicals and microplastics can be released into the environment. This reality is concerning when an estimated 400 million golf balls are lost globally per year. While biodegradable golf balls are on the market golfers are not purchasing these balls due to their inferiority in relation to typical golf balls. My idea is to keep the same construction of a golf ball but install a small GPS in the center almost like an Apple Airtag. The GPS would be powered by the club hitting the ball. It would function like kinetic energy. The club would “wake up” the GPS in the golf balls. The golfer would then be able to locate their golf ball on a phone app while the GPS shares location. I think this product would greatly reduce the number of lost golf balls per year.
