Point of View Statements

Point of View Statement 1

David needs an informative analysis of the materials used to produce a certain piece of clothing. As someone that prioritises quality over quantity, he purchases clothing every 3-4 months and aims to buy pieces that are comfortable, durable and outlive trends, but lacks the knowledge to make informed decisions based on the fabric and methods of manufacturing that a piece of clothing has undergone.

Point of View Statement 2

Ursula wishes to learn more about fashion sustainability and gain a greater insight and awareness into the ramifications of fast fashion. She is slowly starting to be exposed to the reality of online shopping (her cult favourites are Shein and Temu) and wants to know which of the stores she frequents are in fact contributing to unethical labor practices and unsustainable materials.

Point of View Statement 3

Betty needs an easy-to-use method of deciding how justifiable her purchasing decisions are as she aims to create more sustainable and financially sound decisions. As a broke college student, Betty has always opted for cheaper clothing, but has come to realise that buying higher quality and more sustainable clothing is in fact cheaper in the long run. She wants something that can show the longevity of a piece of clothing, as well as if it’s reasonably priced given it’s manufacturing process and the materials used.

Point of View Statement 4

Edna needs an in-depth analysis into how sustainable certain brands are since she wants to inform more people about which ones to avoid and to endorse. As a knowledgeable ‘Eco-Warrior’, Edna feels passionately about fashion sustainability and has expert knowledge in which materials are unsustainable, what unethical labor practices consist of and wants to expose more brands for greenwashing. She wants to continue to be sustainable and advocate for fashion sustainability.
