5 Steps for Creating Your Discipline-Specific Models — A L A S C
‣
- Create and save a local Revit model using a template for your discipline
- Save your Revit model to ACC using the Collaborate > Collaborate > In the Cloud tool
‣
- Link to your team’s Shared Levels & Grids model
- Use Project Base Point to Project Base Point
‣
- Acquire the coordinates from the Shared Levels & Grids model.
- This will set your Latitude, Longitude, and Project North rotation to match the setting in your Shared Levels & Grids model.
‣
- If you open your A-E-C-M Revit file in the Cloud Models folder but don’t see your grids when you have already linked in the Revit file from the Shared Levels & Grids folder, follow the steps below to redefine your scope box. Note how you will be working in views by discipline in the Project Brower on the right, and how these views have already defaulted to selecting “Views Overall” for the Scope Box in the Properties window on the left.
- Open the “L1 - Working” floor plan in the Project Browser window to locate your grids. Note how these coordination views have defaulted to selecting “No Scope” for the Scope Box in the Properties window which allows you to see the entire model and have “Do Not Crop View” on in the bottom row of icons.
- Zoom out and pan until you locate your grids.
- Go to the View tab and in the Create section, select “Scope Box”.
- Drag to create a new scope box around your grids and rename the new scope box to be “Site Scope Box” in the Properties window.
- Reset all discipline views using the new “Site Scope Box” you just created in the desired site location by changing the Scope Box dropdown selection in the Properties window.
- If adjustment is needed, can go back to the “L1 - Working” coordination view where you created the “Site Scope Box” and drag the extents of the box via the blue arrows or use the rotate tool in the toolbar if your site is at an angle.
