Overview
In this test, you'll use the Model Coordination tools in the Autodesk Construction Cloud web interface to identify and classify clashes between two published versions of Revit models -- in this case, finding any clashes or interferences between the elements in the Daycare Center model you created as part of the AEC Global Teamwork application process and another model that has been uploaded to ACC.
Steps to Follow
- Launch the Revit 2026 application and sign in to Autodesk Construction Cloud using your Autodesk ID.
- Open the Daycare Center model that you created.
- Publish your Daycare Center model to ACC as a Cloud Revit model.
- Create a new 3D view that focuses on the edits that you made to the model for Test 5.
- Duplicate your Default 3D view (the one named {3D}).
- Rename your duplicate view with a new name that will make it easy to identify as yours -- for example, 3D Overview - YourName.
- Add your new 3D view to the list of views that will be Published.
- Open the Collaborate > Publish Settings tool.
- Select Set 1 from the list of publish sets, and make sure that the Include checkbox is turned on.
- Open the Show in List pull-down menu, and choose All views and sheets in the Model.
- Scroll down in the list of views and sheets and turn on the Include checkbox for the view that you created in Step 3a.
- Click the Save & Close button to save your changes.
- Use the Collaborate > Collaborate in Cloud > Save as Cloud Model tool to save your model to the CEE 222 - Global AEC Testing 2026 project as a Cloud Revit model.
- Select the CEE 222 - Global AEC Testing 2026 project in the Save as Cloud model dialog.
- Navigate to the Project Files > Daycare Center Models folder.
- Name your Cloud Revit Model using your name or initials — for example, “Daycare Center GLK”.
- Click Save to create the Cloud model.
- Copy your Daycare Center Cloud model into the Model Coordination space.
- Open the Autodesk Construction Cloud web interface at: https://acc.autodesk.com
- Use the pull-down menu in the title bar of the web interface to open the CEE 222 - Global AEC Testing 2026 project, then switch to the Docs module.
- Navigate to CEE 222 - Global AEC Testing 2026 project and switch to the Docs module.
- Copy your Daycare Center model into the Daycare Coordination Space folder to make it available for clash detection.
- Open the Project Files > Daycare Center Models folder.
- Select your Daycare Center model from the list of Published models.
- Click the pull-down menu button in the toolbar at the top of the file list, then choose Copy.
- Select the Daycare Coordination Space folder as the destination for the copy.
- Click Copy.
- Switch to the Autodesk Construction Cloud Model Coordination module.
- Click the module menu button (currently displaying Docs in the title bar) and choose Model Coordination from the menu that appears.
- Important: You must switch to the Model Coordination module to access the clash detection features in the Autodesk Construction Cloud interface. While you can see the Daycare Coordination Space folder in the Docs module, you need to switch to the Model Coordination module to complete the next steps.
- Use the Coordinate Space menu at the upper right corner of the interface to switch to the Daycare Coordination Space.
- This will switch to a separate coordination space containing only the files to be coordinated in this test.
- View the list of 3D Model views available in the Daycare model coordination space.
- Create a Model Coordination View containing the 3D models that you want to Coordinate (compare the elements to detect clashes).
- Select two of the 3D models in the Models list:
- Daycare Center - YOURNAME -- a 3D model showing the elements in your Daycare Center model.
- Daycare HVAC Prelim -- a 3D model including a preliminary design for ductwork for the HVAC system of the Daycare Center.
- Click the ‘Open in Viewer’ button to display these models in a new merged view.
- The merged view is opened displaying the selected models.
- Click the Save View button to save these models as a new Model Coordination View.
- Enter a title for this view that will be easy to recognize -- for example, Duct Locations - YourName.
- Click Save View.
- Next, view the clashes detected between the models in the merged view.
- Click the Clashes button in the left side toolbar to view the clashes between these two models included in this merged view.
- This will display the clashes between the elements in these two models.
- Adjust the clash detection views to focus on the views and elements that you want to verify.
- Set Selection A to your Daycare Center model using the 3D view you created to show the elements to test.
- Set Selection B to Daycare HVAC Prelim.rvt - 3D Ducts view.
- Set the Group clashes by to Object Name.
- Find 3 different significant clashes between your Daycare Center model elements and the preliminary design for the ductwork in the HVAC system.
- Click on the clash groups listed, and look for elements with clashes that should be avoided in your future design updates.
- Capture screenshots of these 3 clashes and submit them to the Course Assistant to confirm that you’ve completed the test.
