Ernie Engineering will only buy something if it is absolutely necessary. The shoelaces of his shoe might be completely stripped and their soles hanging on by a thread, but he will continue to wear them until they are unusable. When he is forced to buy something new, he makes sure it will last him another 15 years.

Ernie Engineer would survive an apocalypse. He does not spend on shoes or fancy watches, he spends his money on solar-powered Garmin watches and med kits. His backpack not only has the perfect amount of pockets but is bulletproof as well.

Ernie Engineer has bought is jeans, shoes, and shirts from the same store for the last 40 years. He does not like the brand because of the name, but because their products are high quality and fairly priced. Ernie is a sensible man.
