Hi, I’m Zarrin. I’m majoring in civil engineering, but I’m also interested in bio (ecology) and architecture. I’m not entirely sure what my goals with these three interests are (yet), but I like to build cool and pretty things and think the coolest thing that can be built are buildings, especially when they are pretty. I’m particularly fascinated with biomimicry in infrastructure design and bio-based materials. Oh, I’m also interested in pursuing said cool things sustainably☝️. Hence, why this class stood out to me among other design courses. I’m a Zero Waste Intern at Stanford as well. Through the internship, I’ve amassed many ideas on how Stanford’s waste system can be designed more sustainably to meet our zero waste goals within the next few years. In this course, I hope to learn how those ideas can be communicated and implemented, and maybe how to gauge whether my ideas are legit and will be effective before any implementation begins.

Here’s me and Iza (she is also in this course) thinking sustainable thoughts!
