What are the principal advantages of using a single building information model of the existing conditions as the foundation for modeling several proposed design alternatives for a portion of the building?
It allows for immense flexibility and efficiency in testing different types of design elements without having to create an entirely new building just to test different idea. There is a lot of versatility allowed.
In your project, which features of the proposed design did you choose to model as design alternatives?
I chose the color and pitch of the roofs as my design alternative. After changing the color and pitch of the exiting design I realized how impactful that change was which is why I created two options for it.
