Description
The engineering building takes on a new student-centered extension with ample space for collaboration. The proposed design is separated from the original structure by a geometric void. Glass curtain walls and sharp angles create a modern feel, while white stone tiles and an orange shingle roof echo the classic style of the old building.
Students can work on projects in the Maker’s Space, display their art in the gallery, or take a break in the recreation space on the third floor. Upon the rooftop sits an outdoor dining area, which features a maze of concrete retaining walls for rest or play. A bright, open study space on the second floor is perfect for students who wish to study alone or with friends.
