POSTER 3 CREATIVE:

POV COPY TO BE INCLUDED ON POSTER:

💡
Recent graduates and young married professionals need an affordable, multi-purpose micro-home, without long-term rental agreements. Due to extreme weather conditions, they need a place that is integrated with all the basic needs so that they don’t need to leave the building often.

MVP COPY TO BE INCLUDED ON POSTER:

💡
“ We’ve taken the term micro-living quite literally. This building will enable 100% self-sustained living for its tenants and visitors. It is a micro-grid, micro-farm, micro public transportation, office and leisure space - all that one needs in the year 2050 will be provided for within the confines of this building.” 1. The building is completely self-sufficient (produces its own energy, food & water, transportation) 2. The building is able to adapt to any and all extreme weather events (due to the intelligent, adaptive nature of its design) 3. The building provides all the amenities and spaces required for work, entertainment and lifestyle needs.

Built Environment

The Honeycomb

@Jessica Espousing biomimicry and hive design.

Design Logic

Imagine a bustling beehive, where every compartment has its unique purpose and contributes to the overall harmony of the hive. In a similar fashion, our living space is like a well-organized hive, where each room serves a distinct function while working together to create a comfortable and functional environment.

Just as worker bees diligently perform their roles, our kitchen becomes the heart of nourishment, where culinary creations take shape. The living room, like the central chamber of the hive, is where the colony gathers to communicate, share stories, and relax after a busy day.

Bedrooms resemble individual honeycomb cells, providing personal sanctuaries for rest and rejuvenation. Just as bees meticulously maintain their cells, we take pride in crafting our living spaces to reflect our personalities and offer a retreat from the outside world.

A beehive's ventilation system ensures optimal airflow, much like our thoughtfully designed windows that bring in fresh air and natural light. Similarly, just as bees use their surroundings to build and support their hive, we carefully select furnishings and decorations that enhance our living experience.

Even the colors and textures we choose can be likened to the variety of pollen and nectar sources bees collect to create diverse flavors of honey. In our living space, these design choices contribute to a harmonious aesthetic that resonates with our senses.

Much like bees work collectively to maintain their hive, we, too, collaborate to keep our living space in harmony. Just as the hive's inhabitants rely on each other for survival, our household members come together to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fosters growth, creativity, and shared experiences.

By using the beehive analogy, you can highlight the interconnectedness of different aspects of a living space, emphasize the functionality and purpose of each area, and showcase the importance of collaboration and harmony among its inhabitants.

  • Minimises building materials
  • Maximises space

Microgrid

The building generates and stores its own electricity.

  • Nuclear fusion is used as the primary source of energy
  • Solar, wind, & hydropower used as backup.

Micro-transportation

“The Building is completely self-sufficient. It produces its own energy, food & water, and has its own transportation system.”
