Bay Area resident Olin Cong is a retired professor from Stanford University. In his free time he takes: incredibly interesting classes at Stanford, goes to the local library to read books on Malaysian culinary etiquette and also plays racquetball. He is extremely caring about the two friends on his feet. He loves to keep up with the Gen-Z and their fashion trends, however, it’s pretty daunting; fashion is expensive and his needs, diverse.
Professor Cong took special interest in a Palo Alto based start-up called MyGrip, which intends on manufacturing modular shoe grips using small vacuum seals. He wants to travel to New York City for the annual racquetball tournament next week, also wants to win the bet with his good friend Klenn Gatz as to who shows up with the better pair of shoes at the party, and may also want to go on an adventurous hike. He’s a creative thinker; he needs creative solutions!
He gets the trial set of modular shoes from MyGrip. He chooses a black build to satisfy his formal needs. The build is of regular lightweight synthetic mesh, to support his racquetball needs. He also gets three pairs of foldable modular grips, one is a super stretchable non-marking gum sole, another one is a flat sneaker-like set up which he got customized (the crazy part comes later) and a set of regular track and field grips, in case he’d like to hit the gym.
Let’s go to NYC. Flying light, he packs the sports grips in his carry-on bag, which don’t take up more space than a extra large pair of socks do. It’s all good. The vacuum knob helps him be comfortable in the flight. It serves two purposes, tightens and loosens up the fit, and also while loosening, provides some sort of air flow into his feet so that he feels in seventh heaven!
We land six hours later. His racquetball match is upcoming right now. Out come the gum soles. He uses the toggle at the heel of the shoe to fasten them on to the shoes after aligning the small vacuum seals. The seals are also located at strategic positions depending on his requirements. in racquetball you see, certain areas of the shoe need a tighter fit, and some loose. The grips can adjust! Without a doubt, he wins his round, and also sheds some good calories in the process :D
The gym soles work perfectly fine as he cools down, and heads to the final part of his trip; the party. His dear friend waits, not to see his face but to see his shoes. And voila, what do the party soles have written on their side? “At my feet, ya lost!”. MyGrip customised them, remember! All-in-all, it was a successful day at office for Professor Cong. He can return home satisfied, and with a hefty paycheck for MyGrip!
