She is 21 years old
Key Findings from the Interview
she is a indoor person. So, during her time in Taichung, she usually spends time in her own garden or look at the garden through her window (she lives on the second floor and her garden is above a store on the first floor, also a type of rooftop garden??)
recent experience of visiting an urban green area in Taichung: visited Fengjia Park (逢甲公园); some evergreen trees in the park; Not many ppl visit the park probably because of the location of the park (Fengjia district is famous for night market so people would rather go to night market than the park) and lots of drunk guys (probably homeless people, which is a serious issue in Taiwan) hang out there at night
recent experience of visiting an urban green area in Tokyo: went to Yoyogi park for training, really enjoyed the dog park inside the Yoyogi park: considerate in that they separate small dogs from large ones; for people who don’t have a dog, they can observe on the side (there’s benches next to the dog parks
urban greening projects & reflections: Innovative, but kind of worry about the maintenance (maintenance, costs) of the projects
major differences between novel projects like green roofs and conventional parks: 1. scale; the conventional park is larger, with more variety in visitors than rooftop gardens
any expectations that haven’t been met by the urban greening projects: 1. Too many bugs in the summer, hope to get rid of them (probably though some plant species that repel bugs) 2. Prefer less crowded parks (a park that is public but private at the same, perhaps using plants to separate her from the crowd)
