Ursula does not care about sustainability, she just wants the best quality item for herself. She also does not care much about how much money it costs, or whether it is needed.

Sam exclusively buys second hand clothes and refurbished technology. This necessitates high quality items, but that is not her main concern. She does’t need to buy much because she fixes any items that break or repurposes them for a long time before disposing of them.

Lachlan rarely buys anything. He likes to have a simple wardrobe and good quality technology. He cannot fathom the mind of someone who would have more than 5 of the same item (eg pants, shirts), because why would you need that many? When he does buy something, it is a big deal, and he researches a lot so that he doesn’t have to buy anything for a while. He bases his decisions on the usable lifetime of the item he is getting, not afraid to splash the cash a little.
