Key Findings from the Interview
- What does sustainability mean to you?
- She thinks sustainability is about living in a way that doesn’t consume an overwhelming amount of resources, ensuring that there’ll be enough to cycle around for the future
- What does the word “eco-consciousness” mean to you?
- She believes eco-consciousness means being conscious of our ecosystem/environment and not doing stuff to hurt it
- Do you think your local community is doing well in being eco-conscious?
- Living in Suzhou, she believes that the city is doing well in terms of eco-consciousness, because they’re planting a lot of trees, sorting of trash, and avoiding too much light pollution by turning off all city lights at 11pm, etc. But Suzhou also has quite a lot of factories emitting CO2.
- If I told you that a space would be created with the aim to increase eco-conciousness would you be willing to support it? Why?
- Yes. Because she thinks that would make the world a better place through promoting the concept. That is, with more people exposed to the idea, then more people will become aware of the problems.
- What would you suggest the space be? Why?
- She suggest that the space consists of 3D surrounding visualizations of what a fully eco-conscious community would look like (like what types of facilities and elements it would have) and depict the positive impacts having such a community would have on the environment.
