Journal Entry For
Project 1 - Domain / Area of Opportunity

The domain that I’d like to focus on is….

Micro perforated aluminum and creating more sustainable/reusable containers. I’m interested in breathable packaging that can also reduce mildew and address issues like food storage sustainability.

**I’ve also been thinking about air filtration and a more cost-effective solution for “shop vacs” that also help clean the air.

This area is important/interesting to me because….

It is easier to recycle than plastic and I think it also has potential to be more durable as a breathable packaging / storage medium.

I think about food waste, preserving leafy greens, leftovers, and other things (esp fruits and vegetables) that are hard to make last longer than a week. Usually we store them in fridge drawers or in sealed plastic containers. Rubbermaid created a “breathable” line of products called “Freshworks” that tried to address this issue, but they really don’t work that well.
