Key Findings from the Interview
What does sustainability mean to you?
Reuse, reduce, recycle. Trying to use things that replenish so you can keep using it forever.
How is energy misused or inefficiently used in your home country/state?
Probably the same way as other states.. Oregon, however, has clean energy as it is quite liberal. My father works for Nike, they have a lot of renewable systems on the Nike headquarters, and many promises to be lower carbon emissions and use more renewable resources and systems.
If a system that uses energy more efficiently/effectively was introduced to your daily life with a ramification of price increase (say, 10-30%) would you embrace it or reject it?
Me personally I would take it, depending on the price. I would probably embrace it. I don’t have money currently as I’m only 16.. but my parents would 100% sacrifice a larger fixed price for something that was more sustainable.
Do you have any ideas or opinions on how to improve energy usage in your country/state or as a whole? Move to more renewable energy in general. For example, hydro energy, and wind energy.
(Extended upon- What’s your favorite source of renewable energy?): probably wind.. because it seems like it’s a pretty good source and it’s been used pretty well before.
