I first empathized with the people nonchalantly waiting in line at Panda Express, which we discussed in office hours could represent lack of happiness. I wanted to create happiness through getting rid of the line and providing fun to customers, which is how the board-game-like structure of the Build-n-Go emerged.
In the process of ideation, testing quickly exposed inconveniences seeing the entire menu. The rotating kiosk idea emerged because of this, which also helped me present an innovative quirk in my MVP.
Sustainability was also strangely easy to fit into the project, mine focusing on economic sustainability, which taught me just how connected it is to our daily lives.
